Join Patricia Benner, RN, PhD, FAAN, FRCN, as she kicks off Pearson’s “Thinking Like a Nurse” webinar series!

Dr. Benner will share groundbreaking findings from the Carnegie Foundation Study and her American Journal of Nursing award-winning book, Educating Nurses: A Call for Radical Transformation.

This session will help educators develop pedagogical and curricular strategies for today’s students, while reinforcing effective coaching strategies for practitioners.

Upon completion of this session, the learner will be able to:

  1. Reference key findings of the Carnegie Foundation Study on Nursing Education and their impact on the necessary changes in how nurses are educated.
  2. Identify effective coaching techniques to improve students’ and new nurses’ clinical reasoning.
  3. Compare and contrast the differences between potential learning in a classroom using traditional lecture versus using engaged, interactive dialogue based on real patient situations.
